Corey, as a misguided adolescent, made pivotal mistakes that led him into a life of crime, including being ordered to commit murder. Seeking an escape from the challenging environment of South Jamaica Queens, he enlisted in the United States Army. After an honorable discharge from the military, Corey transitioned to becoming an NYPD officer.

Corey's rapid ascent through the ranks of the NYPD is attributed to his professionalism and gravitas in the field. As a celebrated Commander and public servant, he has played a key role in fostering better relations between the community and the police. Throughout his career, Corey has garnered numerous awards and undergone specialized training, contributing to his impeccable record within the police force.

In May 2016, Corey achieved critical acclaim with the publication of his memoir, "Once A Cop." The book takes readers on an emotional rollercoaster as Corey recounts his journey from a life as a drug dealer to becoming an executive in the nation's largest police department.
